No Sweat: Programmable Thermostats Save on Energy Costs

http://bit.ly/g4vfKw

Advanced programmable thermostats give you precise control over your heating and cooling, helping to reduce wasted energy.

Great way to really save.

bad day for the Horns

Texas slips to Nebraska by 3 after being down by 11 with 2:36 left to play and tying it up with 1:07 to play. Then, the baseball team loses the first game of a double header to unranked Maryland 10-1 but come back to win second game 7-4. The old saying you can't win em all sure held true today. Good time to lose in basketball for a reality check and #1 and #4 and a few other top 10 teams lost this week. Now, let's get ready for March Madness. We need to secure the number one seed so we can play in Houston for the regional finals. Hook 'em Horns!!

Trying to sell your home? Take a theatrical approach.

http://wapo.st/giayD7

Is it easier to sell a vacant house that always looks pristine, or a lived-in unit that shows how a family is using the space?

Personally, I have left my last 2 homes staged and lived very minimally to gaurantee the sales...and that means until you are sure your buyer is going to be able to buy, so until the last week before closing usually.

More stringent screening means borrowers must watch credit until closing day

http://wapo.st/hEARSf

One loan officer describes it as a "financial colonoscopy" on your credit, and he suggests that anybody applying for a mortgage be prepared for it.

That's right, don't go buy a bunch of furniture for your new place, wait until you move in so you are more secure on your loan. For more tidbits like this, follow me at http://austinlaketravisstyle.blogspot.com/

Just Pure Cold

Ok, so I sat up in bed this morning at 4:27am knowing I had to be up at 5:00. Tv was on, and of course, I drifted off to sleep again. Well, at 5:50, I sat up and realized I had no Power. Ughhh. 19 Degrees, no lights, kids up and dressed in the dark. Then, run to school, a network marketing group meeting at Fins (with my 3 year old and the heater was broken and on and on). Got her to school about 45 mins late, go back home and guess what....no power still. So, here I sit in my office, hoping people don't laugh at me in my Longhorn Bini Hat and Colorado State Sweatshirt and say, hey man, you could have at least showered today. Well, it's all Austin, Lake Travis Style. Check out my blog daily for great info. http://austinlaketravisstyle.blogspot.com/
